SUMMER
Sleepy days and sleepless nights,
A daze of days and daisy fields
that are dotted, spotted left and right,
sunny gold on cotton white
like a freshly laundered summer dress.

How lovely and summery. The whole poem feels light, doesn’t it? I particularly enjoy the internal rhymes that give the poem a playfulness.
This is gorgeous, lovely, dreamy. I miss those summers. (Summer in Arizona is like living in the furnace…)
Thanks, Diana! We had a hint of sun yesterday but it’s raining again today. Hoo-Hum…
I love the line “sunny gold on cotton white” — that is summer in a nutshell. You met the challenge of matching the tone/feel to the subject matter very well.
Thank you Annette! I’m glad for your feed-back and comments. I’m off to read yours offering to the prompt now — can’t wait to read it!
I love that first line – and the daisies – so summery.
Richard
Thank you so very much.
