William Williams
is trespassing
in my left
ear, his film noire
voice an itch
in my right -
his speech
stilted
as cobbles,
and I am trapped,
and trespassing
between his walls.

Oh boy. Wonder what Prof. Filreis would say about THIS in a close reading!
Williams’s voice just grates on me. It’s like chewing on a stick of chalk. Closed reading? It is what it is.
