DON’T FORGET YOUR FIRST
I hadn’t thought about it for years;
it’s not one of those things
that I think about,
but as I stand here now, watching
snowflakes dust the hills,
Scurrying and catching in my hair
like long lost thoughts, I recall
that moment with a smile. Skiing
through the whiteness of wind
on a mountain whose name I can’t recall –
Remembering that moment when I
was suddenly awake, aware,
open and laid bare,
when in a single gasp I inhaled
the universe and all its stars
into the depths of soft innocence,
And we kissed, first kiss, right there
as snowflakes fell on us in veils
of laced discovery.

A first kiss to remember! I wish mine had been like that as opposed to the dirty braces and slobber that I recall. LOL
From the sound of it, I was a bit older when I had my first ‘real’ kiss. I was 16.

Thanks for reading it and leaving a comment!
Snowflakes & first kiss! Great setting & the last stanza is simply marvellous.
Thank you, Irene!
