The Rest in a Jar

The Rest in a Jar

He was a March Hare chasing sleep.
So one night he decided he ought
to dress himself up as bait; sleep he would woo.
Lambie slippers on his feet,
Fuzzy sheep PJs – Baaa’Baaa,
chasing after sleep, he caught all
he’d ever need,
and kept the rest in a jar.

Written for Walt at Poetic Bloomings
Variation on an Indonesian Wirangrong

Author: Misky

‘Misky’ lives in the UK surrounded by flowers, freshly baked bread, and always keeps dog biscuits in her pocket for her blind Springer Spaniel. She never buys clothing without pockets. Her work is widely published.
